PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Douglas R. Sweet, CFP®/CLU, entered the Financial Planning business in 1983 as a Consultant to a major insurance company. He formed his own financial planning firm in 1985. He specializes in the area of comprehensive financial planning, retirement, and estate planning. He is the President of Midwest Financial Advisors, Inc. A registered investment advisor, a licensed insurance agent for life, annuities, disability and property and casualty, and a licensed real estate agent. He is a registered representative offering securities through Mutual Service Corporation, Member, FINRA & SIPC.
He is the founder of the Midwest Financial Group, Inc., a group practice of independent financial planning, investment, and insurance specialists trained and licensed to offer a broad range of financial services. Midwest Financial Advisors, Inc. is a fee based Registered Investment Advisory firm owned and directed by Mr. Sweet. Pinnacle Realty Investments, LLC is a real estate management and investment company owned and supervised by Mr. Sweet.
A respected lecturer and author, Mr. Sweet is a regular contributor to the Indianapolis Business Journal as an authority on various financial and insurance issues. He has frequent speaking engagements to groups and organizations across the country focusing on retirement planning and IRA rollovers, comprehensive financial planning and estate planning. Mr. Sweet is an active member of the Million Dollar Round Table, National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU), and the Indianapolis Estate Planning Council.

THE AMERICAN COLLEGE – BRYN MAWR, PENNSYLVANIA – Obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter designation (CLU). Post graduate study of Financial Planning, Tax Planning, Investments, Risk Management, Retirement and Estate Planning.

Born in Wabash, Indiana and a life long resident of Indiana. Wife, Sunali, is a Doctor of Optometry and partner in Sweet-Obenauf Eye Care, P.C. Two daughters, Natasha and Jasmine, and a son, Jesse.
